Ladies Altar Society Donations:

Orthodox women have a special ministry in the life of a parish. Their role as messengers of the Gospel, teachers, and sustainers of the faith has been central to Church growth since the time of Christ. Our Ladies Altar Society promotes religious, humanitarian, and social programs that affect the life and growth of our church and community. As part of the archdiocesan women's organization (AOCWNA), they participate in local and regional activities designed to raise awareness and funds for Orthodox orphanages throughout the world and scholarships for young women continuing education. Our ladies continue to raise funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the Altar area to ensure the beauty of the House of God.

The Ladies Altar Society meets on the second Wednesday of every month and welcomes any parishioner willing to share her talents and wisdom.
Making your LAS annual membership dues can be made online by selecting the button below.

ST. Nicholas Men's Society

St. Nicholas Men’s Society is a St. George based men’s group that assists the church and parishioners in times of need. Our support comes from membership dues and donations. Our membership is open to male members of St. George Orthodox Christian Church.

 What we do…

  • Perform charitable functions for the needy in our Orthodox Christian community
  • Support those in need in our parish family
  • Support St. George events
  • Organize St. George events that support charitable causes
  • Strive to always be there when a helping hand is needed
Anyone who knows of an individual or family in need should inform any of our priests, who will then contact the St. Nicholas Society. Confidentiality will be maintained as much as possible. We often do not know who we are helping, but we are glad to help.

If you would like to join or would like information please email: StNicholasSociety@stgeorgehouston.com

Youth & Young Adult Ministries

The children of St. George are the future of The Church. Just like we enroll our children in sports, and other extracurricular activities, it is of even more importance that we keep them embedded and involved in the life of the church

  •  JOY Club (Junior Orthodox Youth) program
This program is designed for children from ages 7 - 12. JOY Club allows for friendships to be built among others of similar ages whose families share the sameOrthodox Christian values.
  •  Teen SOYO program
This program is designed for our teens ages 13 - 18 .  The SOYO program allows our teens to worship, witness, serve, and have fun in a safe, hospitable, and Orthodox Christian environment.  Such activities and events included: Our bible team National Bible Bowl Championship!, SOYO Basketball Tournament in OKC, and attended Winter Camp at Camp St. Raphael. Our 21/40 (also known as Young Adult Ministries) program is similar to OCF’s goals; it continues to allow for a spiritual and social network as our young adults mature in society. We must continue to show support, hospitality, love, and care as young adults enter into the “real world.”
