Bookstore: Help organize and manage merchandise in the bookstore during the week and help customers on Sundays. Team Leads: Tulin Bennett & Dounya Baine

CCSE (Community Care Services Eligibility) Luncheon: Annual Christmas Luncheon for 500 mentally and physically challenged guests from local area adult daycare facilities. 50 volunteers are needed to serve two sittings expeditiously. Team Lead: Al Nahas

Church School: Starting at ages 4 and continuing until young adulthood, September through May. Students may be signed up through the online form by CLICKING HERE. Volunteers needed to coordinate and assist with 3 annual parties: All Saints, St. Nicholas, and Lazarus Saturday. Team Lead: Mary Gamel

Coffee Hour: Help set up the hall for Sunday Coffee Hour after Liturgy. Team Lead: Tawfiq Jallouq

CPS (Child Protective Services) Party: Annual Christmas Party for 120 youth and teens currently in CPS care. 30 volunteers needed to lead games, purchase gifts and other activities in our fellowship hall. Team Lead: Georgina Baba

Food Pantry: Help stock the food pantry for those in need. Team Lead: Carolyn Attra-Nahas

Greeters & Welcoming Committee: Greet visitors, prospective members & members to help them feel welcome. Volunteers are needed before and after Liturgy on Sundays to introduce visitors to our prayer book, explain Liturgy and welcome them at coffee hour afterwards. Team Lead: Louis Abercia

Helping Hands: Volunteer to do handyman type work to assist with special parish projects that need extra help to coordinate or complete. No skills or experience required. Team Lead: Eddy Bridy

Historical Preservation: Help keep the 90+ year history of St. George alive by collecting and maintaining historical archives (photos, videos, news articles). Team Lead: Michael Namee

JOY (Junior Orthodox Youth) Club: For children ages 7-12. This program meets monthly and fosters friendships built with others of similar ages whose families share Orthodox Christian values. Team Lead: Chris Al-Dehneh

Library: Help organize and maintain the library and inventory. Help parishioners check out/in books after Sunday Liturgy. Catalog is available at Team Lead: Michael Namee

Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF): OCF helps our college aged young adults mature in society with the support of the Orthodox Christian Church, helping to provide a Christian transition to college from high school. They meet regularly on college campuses for lunch, have regular social events, and go on humanitarian mission trips together. Team Lead: Chris Al-Dehneh

Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM): This pan-Orthodox organization is the official prison ministry of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North America. Bring the love of Christ to prisoners, those reentering society, and their family members. Visit Team Lead: Daniel Namee

Prayer Team: Organized prayer for anyone who is sick or suffering. Please CLICK HERE toy fill out the Prayer Request Form. Team Lead: Joan Katrib

Psalter Ministry: Join in reading the Psalter for the deceased. Read an assigned Kathisma (several Psalms from the Psalter) from home or at St. George. Team Lead: Joan Katrib

Sacred Music: Rehearse and contribute Orthodox hymns and chants to Liturgy and other prayer services. Team Lead for Arabic Choir & Chanters: Sami Zanayed; Team Lead for Liturgical Choir: Danielle Prontka

Senior’s Ministry: Join this group for monthly bus trips to various locations for fellowship, relaxation, education and adventure; Senior Bingo is also conducted monthly. Anyone 50 and over is welcome to participate in this great, free service. Team Lead: Rosalie Abercia

Shut-In & Visitation: With a Priest, conduct day time visits, call, write, and pray with the sick, elderly parishioners. Volunteers need to be available during the day time. Team Lead: Betty Attra

Spiritual Involvement: Help plan Lenten and Advent Retreats; help provide spiritually edifying articles or stories on the back of monthly calendars. Team Lead: Rosalie Abercia

St. Sophia Mom’s Group: Open to Orthodox Christian mothers with children of all ages. Meet regularly for prayer, fellowship, and support. Team Lead: Natasha Castro

Teen SOYO (Society of Orthodox Youth Organizations): Teen SOYO is organized for our teens (ages 13-18) to worship, witness, serve, learn, and have fun in a safe, hospitable, Orthodox Christian environment for their own spiritual development. Their activities include Bible studies, service/volunteer projects, the annual DOWAMA National Bible Bowl Championship, the annual Basketball Tournament in Oklahoma City, and attending Camp St. Raphael in the summer as well as in the winter. Ushering: Help with ushering during services, and other special duties of church etiquette. Team Leads: George Abercia & Tawfiq Jallouq

Youth Choir: For children who love to sing and want to learn the hymns of the Church. Two groups: 3rd-6th grades, 7th-12th grades. Rehearsals will be Sundays from 12:15-12:50p. Team Lead: Heidi Kaim



Ladies Altar Society (LAS): The St. George Ladies Altar Society exercises general oversight of the Altar and supplies all of its needs. They promote religious, humanitarian, and social programs that affect the life and growth of our church and community. Team Lead: Yolla Jabbour

St. Nicholas Men’s Society: St. George based men’s group that with its membership dues and donations, assists the Church and parishioners in times of need. Membership is open to all male parishioners. They provide charity for the needy in our Orthodox Christian community, organize and support St. George events and charitable causes, and strive to always be there with a helping hand. The Order of St. Ignatius: The Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch is an organization of the Antiochian
Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, with the objective of financially supporting the programs and charitable works of our Archdiocese, Patriarchate and the Orthodox Christian faith, bringing the Gospel to all in need. Visit Team Lead: George Zaibaq

Young Adult Ministries (YAM): The Department of Young Adult Ministry oversees the ministries to our young adults ages 19-35 and helps provide a transition from Teen SOYO and/or OCF to young adulthood. This program continues to provide a spiritual and social network as young adults mature in society. They continue to show support, hospitality, love and care as young adults in the “real world”.
