The youth and young adults of St. George are the future of The Church. Just as they are involved in sports and other extracurricular activities, it is of even more importance that we keep them embedded and involved in the life of The Church.
Please contact our Youth Director, Dn. George Katrib, for more information (713-689-4970 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
JOY Club is designed for children from ages 7-12. This program allows for friendships to be built among others of similar ages whose families share the same Orthodox Christian values.
Teen SOYO is an organized group of teens (ages 13-18) who work together in service and for the sake of the spiritual development of all members. Teen SOYO allows our teens to worship, witness, serve, learn, and have fun in a safe, hospitable, Orthodox Christian environment. Their wide range of activities include Bible studies, service/volunteer projects, the annual DOWAMA National Bible Bowl Championship, the annual Basketball Tournament in Oklahoma City, and attending Camp St. Raphael in the summer as well as in the winter.
OCF helps our college aged young adults mature in society with the support of the Orthodox Christian Church, helping to provide a Christion transition to college from high school. They meet regularly on college campuses for lunch, have regular social events, and go on humanitarian mission trips together.
The Department of Young Adult Ministry oversees the ministries to our young adults ages 19-35 and helps provide a transition from Teen SOYO and/or OCF to young adulthood. This program continues to allow for a spiritual and social network as our young adults mature in society. We must continue to show support, hospitality, love and care as young adults enter the 'real world'.
