(FAC) Project Timeline
Fulfilling Our Legacy
Timeline
At our General Parish Meeting in February 2019, we approved our Capital Campaign project for the current FAC Project.
In May of 2022 we held our FAC Gala, attended by over 200 people, where we raised close to $200,000.
In the summer of 2022, due to rising costs from the pandemic and inflation, the cost was re-estimated and increased to $8.5 million.
At the General Parish Meeting in February 2023, the parish voted and approved a phased approach to completing the FAC.
In September, St. George Houston hosted the first Mediterranean Festival in almost 20 years. Since then, the festival has raised almost $100K toward the FAC.
St. George and the FAC Fundraising Committee introduced the opportunity to name key areas of the future FAC with family names and their patron saints, which jumpstarted a large boost in giving throughout 2025 and onward.
In April 2025, the FAC Committee, with approval from the Parish Council, interviewed and selected a general contractor to assist with project development and completion.
Thanks to a few generous donors who fronted $250K, over the course of three months we raised an additional $250K, for a total of $500K in new pledges toward the FAC.
In April 2026, the FAC Fundraising Committee proposed funding options to begin the FAC in January 2027 and complete it in time for our Centennial Anniversary — a proposal overwhelmingly approved by our General Parish.
The FAC Committee hosted our top donors at a private event to share updates on the FAC and plans moving forward. Through that event we raised an additional $650,000, a total that continues to grow.
All commitments must be fulfilled by this date in order to begin construction in December of 2026.
It is our hope that we will host our Centennial Anniversary in our new FAC building in the Fall of 2028.
